How to get more Botox clients without discounting

Promos fill one week and train clients to wait for the next. How doctor-led clinics win Botox and filler clients at full price, within the ad rules.

To get more Botox clients without discounting, compete on who treats them, how the consultation works and how easy it is to book. Clinics in Lagos and Abuja that cut prices mostly attract shoppers who leave for the next promo. A doctor-led offer, a clear booking path and planned maintenance visits fill your bookings at full price.

A price cut brings shoppers. A clear offer brings clients who return.

Why does discounting backfire for injectables?

A promo fills a week. Then the trouble starts.

  • People learn to wait for the next offer before they book.
  • You attract clients who compare price alone, and they leave for whoever is cheaper.
  • The treatment starts to look like a product on a shelf, when the value is the practitioner’s judgement.
  • The margin that pays for doctor time, aftercare and review visits shrinks.

When someone hesitates, price is often only part of it. They may be unsure who to trust, or what happens at the visit. Fix those two things first.

Lead with the doctor who treats

Your clients see salons, spas and medical clinics offering anti-wrinkle injections and fillers in the same feed. A doctor-led clinic has to show the difference plainly.

  • Name the doctor or qualified practitioner who assesses and treats, with their role.
  • Explain that every first visit starts with a consultation and a medical history.
  • Say openly that some people are told a treatment is not right for them.
  • Show the clinical setting, the records and the aftercare.

This is the reason a client pays your price instead of a salon’s. Our post on aesthetic clinic marketing in Nigeria covers the wider plan.

How do you make the consultation the thing people book?

Most enquiries start with “How much for Botox?” If the reply is a bare number, the next message is often a comparison with a cheaper offer. Give the consultation a clear shape and make it easy to say yes.

  1. Reply within minutes during opening hours.
  2. Answer the price question honestly, with a “from” price or a range if the clinic is comfortable with that.
  3. Explain in one line what the consultation covers and that it confirms the plan and the final price.
  4. Offer two specific times, so the client only has to pick one.
  5. Confirm the booking and send a reminder the day before.

Education content that stays within Meta’s rules

Content that teaches builds the trust a discount tries to buy. Short videos work well when the practitioner explains what a consultation checks, what aftercare involves and how to choose a clinic safely.

If you promote that content as ads, Meta’s Health and Wellness ad standards apply. Ads for cosmetic procedures must be targeted to people aged 18 or older. The policy lists injectable treatments and dermal fillers among the cosmetic procedures it covers, allows before-and-after images for general cosmetic procedures, and bans statements that attack a person’s appearance or body parts (Meta Transparency Center: Health and Wellness). Check the page before each campaign, since Meta updates it. Our post on running Instagram ads for a clinic covers set-up.

Your professional rules sit on top of Meta’s. Get written consent for any client photo, never promise a result, and drop any “fix your flaws” lines.

Sell the plan, then time the maintenance

Many Botox and filler clients come back for review and maintenance visits. That return visit is where steady income sits, and it is where most clinics leak.

  1. At the consultation, explain the full plan: treatment, review visit and maintenance.
  2. Book the review visit before the client leaves.
  3. Send a recall when the practitioner’s advised maintenance interval comes round.
  4. Keep reminders private, with no treatment names anyone else might read.

A package that bundles the consultation, treatment and review visit at one clear price gives value without cutting your fee. Our post on keeping clients coming back covers recalls in more detail.

How should you present price without cutting it?

  • Show what the fee includes: consultation, practitioner, aftercare and review visit.
  • Quote per visit or per plan, so nobody is comparing your price to a salon’s cheapest number.
  • Offer timing instead of money off, such as priority slots for returning clients.
  • List each treatment on your Google Business Profile. Google lets you add a description and price to a service, and rejects custom service names that contain prices or phone numbers (Google Business Profile Help).

Referrals, within the rules

Happy Botox clients telling a friend are a valuable source of new bookings. Make it easy: a short link or card they can pass on, and a warm welcome when the friend calls. Never reveal who has had treatment. Before offering any reward for referrals or paying anyone to bring clients, check the current MDCN Code of Medical Ethics and your professional rules.

Questions clinic owners ask about Botox clients

Should we ever run a Botox promo?

That is your call. A promo can fill a quiet week, but it also teaches clients to wait for the next one. Value that costs you less, such as an included review visit, protects your price.

Can we show before-and-after photos of Botox or filler clients in ads?

Meta’s current policy allows before-and-after images for general cosmetic procedures in ads targeted to people aged 18 or older. You still need the client’s written consent, and your professional rules apply. Never present a result as certain.

How do we get one-time clients to come back?

Explain the full plan at the consultation, book the review visit before they leave, and send a recall when maintenance is due. Most clients who drop off were simply never asked.
