Fertility clinic marketing in Nigeria: trust, privacy and first consultations

Couples research fertility care quietly and for months. How fertility centres get found, earn trust and handle every enquiry with privacy first.

Fertility clinic marketing in Nigeria works when your centre is easy to find, easy to trust and safe to contact during a long, private decision. Couples in Lagos and Abuja often read and compare for months before they send a first message. The centre that answers clearly, replies quickly and protects their privacy is usually the one that books the first consultation.

Most of the decision happens before anyone contacts you.

Why is fertility marketing different from other clinics?

A skin treatment can be booked on impulse. A first fertility consultation rarely is. People research on their phones, often late at night, and many tell nobody until they are ready.

  • Many people will not phone a busy front desk or comment on a public post about fertility.
  • They compare several centres, slowly, before they ask a single question.
  • The first message takes courage. A slow or cold reply ends the conversation.
  • Care runs over many steps, so people can drift away between visits.

So count one number above all: first consultations booked each month, and where each one came from. Likes and page views tell you little here.

How do couples find a fertility clinic on Google?

Private decisions start with private searches. People type things like “fertility clinic in Abuja” or “IVF consultation Lekki” into Google, then read for a long time.

  1. Your Google Business Profile. Correct name, address, hours and phone, the services you offer, and clear photos of the building and reception, never of patients. Our post on Google Business Profile for clinics walks through the set-up.
  2. A page for each service you offer. Say who leads the care, what the first consultation involves, what usually comes next, and how to request a private appointment.
  3. Plain answers to common questions. What to bring, how long a visit takes, how cost is discussed. Pages that answer real questions help people choose you. See what SEO means for clinic owners.

What should your marketing say, and what should it never say?

Trust in fertility care comes from facts, calm language and honesty about the process. Show the people and the steps.

  • Your specialists by name, with their qualifications and roles.
  • Your process, step by step, from first consultation to the next appointment.
  • How cost is explained, and payment plans only if your centre really offers them.
  • How to ask a question privately.

Keep these out of every ad, post and page:

  • Success rates or pregnancy figures. They are easy to misread and hard to compare fairly.
  • Any promise of a result, or a timeline for one.
  • Patient stories, photos or details without written consent.
  • Lines that speak to the reader as if you know their situation, such as “Can’t get pregnant?”. They feel intrusive.

Your professional rules on advertising apply too. Check new campaigns with your medical director before they go live.

Facts build trust. Claims break it.

How do you handle fertility enquiries with privacy first?

Every enquiry route should feel safe. Give people a choice: a short form, a message, or a call. Then protect what they share.

  1. Ask only what you need to book: first name, how to contact them, and a good time. Never ask for medical history in a form or chat.
  2. Let them choose call or message, and the time of day.
  3. Reply the same day during opening hours, warmly and with a clear next step.
  4. Limit who can see enquiries, and keep shared phones locked.
  5. Word reminders without treatment names: “Your appointment at the clinic is tomorrow at 10am.” Anyone might see a phone screen.
  6. Follow up gently between steps, and stop when someone asks you to.

Our posts on replying fast in your DMs and appointment reminders that cut no-shows cover the wording in more detail.

Can fertility clinics advertise on Facebook and Instagram?

Yes, within Meta’s rules. Meta’s Health and Wellness ad standards say advertisers can run ads that promote reproductive health products and services, with extra restrictions, including targeting people aged 18 or older. Its examples of family planning services include family planning clinics and IVF or other artificial insemination procedures. The ads must focus on health (Meta Transparency Center: Health and Wellness). Meta updates these rules, so check the page before each campaign.

Keep the ads calm and factual: who you are, who leads the care, what a first consultation involves, and how to request one privately. Send people to a page or a private message route, never a public comment thread. Our Meta Ads Manager walkthrough covers the set-up.

Questions clinic owners ask about fertility clinic marketing

Should we put our success rates in ads?

Keep them out. Success rates are easy to misread and hard to compare between centres. Factual information about your specialists, services and process builds trust without that risk. Check your professional rules with your medical director.

Can we run fertility ads on Instagram?

Meta’s current Health and Wellness standards allow ads for reproductive health services, including family planning clinics and IVF, with extra restrictions such as targeting people aged 18 or older. The ads must focus on health. Check the policy before each campaign, as it changes.

How quickly should we reply to a fertility enquiry?

The same day during opening hours, and sooner if you can. A first message about fertility takes courage. A warm, quick reply with a clear next step keeps the conversation going.

Should we publish our prices?

That is your centre’s choice. If you don’t, explain how cost is discussed at the first consultation, and make sure every price question still gets a prompt, honest reply.
